THE BENEFITS OF STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength training has more benefits than just improved strength.

BODYBUILDING

Bodybuilding is a type of strength training that uses progressive exercise to develop muscle tissue. The end goal of a bodybuilder is to transform the body into a strong, lean, and aesthetically balanced physique. Workouts are usually specific to an area of the body, performed multiple days and week, and train different areas of the body on different days.

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

While bodybuilding focused on muscles, functional training focuses on the movement of the body. Functional training is getting a lot of buzz these days and for good reason, as it improves strength, stability, and mobility. Functional training is defined as performing exercises that support activities in daily life – these exercises go beyond the gym.

Olympic lifting trains explosive strength and has long been used by athletes of other sports like football and track to improve their power. Olympic lifting as a sport focuses on two dynamic movements the snatch, the clean and jerk. Olympic lifting trains speed and a greater range of motion than other types of strength training.
