Laurie was a competitive swimmer as a child and into freshman year of college at Illinois State, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Fitness in 1992. She immediately started personal training from there, and loves making people feel better by showing them they are strong and have endurance to get them through their lives. She aims to make her group classes nurturing and support others’ self-care. In the past, Laurie volunteered for Danskin Team Survivor where she trained breast cancer survivors and those in treatment to compete in triathlons. She was also one of the founding members of the Texas Rollergirls and made flat track roller derby happen in Austin. When she’s not working, Laurie is deepening her Yoga and meditation practices, roller skating at the Veloway, singing in her Christmas band The Blitzens, or spending time with her husband and young daughter.

    Strengthen the brain/body connection with a class focused on balance, posture, gait, and bodyweight moves. Laurie will throw in some good ol' stretching to set you up for a great day. Friday's class will push the envelope with more challenging moves.

    Time for a reboot! This slower tempo class is perfect for beginners, those recovering from injury, or those returning from a long yoga break. We focus on basic yoga postures while warming up our bodies with a variety of tools like foam rollers, trigger point balls, and more!

    Full body stretch with a Yoga vibe. Laurie will lead you through Sun salutations and yoga-based stretches. Along with the use of foam rollers & yoga tune up balls, Laurie will help keep you flexible enough to participate in all of your favorite activities.

    Stability and mobility are the cornerstones of a safe & effective workout. Keeping this in mind, Laurie combines full body resistance training with cardio intervals, offering lots of modification to accommodate any fitness level or healing injury, so everyone is ensured of the best workout.
