HOME WORKOUT: KETTLEBELL PILATES CIRCUIT

Today’s daily workout is brought to you by Castle Hill Fitness Pilates instructor, Sara Garonzik. Sara put her years of training with Kettlebell instructor Minna Harman to good use. With a combination of a Kettlebell set with a Pilates mat series,  this workout will deliver a full-body tone with an additional ab burn! 

This workout requires a kettlebell (Sara uses a 10lb and 20lb one here) and a mat, but if you don’t have a kettlebell we encourage you to get creative with your weight replacement. Replacement suggestions (ordered by normal to creative 😀 ): Dumbbell, sandbell, a gallon of water, a box of wine, a small pet, or a small child. 

 

THE WORKOUT

KETTLEBELL

  • box stretches per side (5) 
  • double arm swings (20) 
  • single arm swings per side (10) 
  • windmill per side (10) 
  • halos per direction (10) 
  • shoulder press in straddle per arm (10) 

PILATES AB SERIES

  • single-leg stretch (10)
  • double-leg stretch (10)
  • single straight legs per side (10)
  • double straight leg (10)
  • criss-cross per side (10)
  • finish with a child pose

DAILY WORKOUT KETTLEBELL SET

1) Box Stretches with 10lb Kettlebell – x5 each side

2) Double Arm Swings with 20lb Kettlebell – x20

3) Single Arm Swings with 10lb Kettlebell – x10 each side

4) Snatches with 10lb Kettlebell – x10 each side

5) Windmills with 10lb Kettlebell – x10 per side 

6) Halos with 10lb Kettlebell – x10 per side 

 

7) Shoulder Press in Straddle with 10lb Kettlebell – x10 per side

 

DAILY WORKOUT MAT PILATES AB SERIES

Single-Leg Stretch – repeat 10 times

Double Leg Stretch – repeat 10 times 

Single Straight Leg – repeat 10 times 

Double Straight Leg – repeat 10 times 

Criss Cross – repeat 10 times
