Gillian Stahl Barksdale is a certified Iyengar Yoga and Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) instructor who began her yoga practice in 1996. She completed a three-year intensive teacher training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles, and has enjoyed teaching since 2001. Gillian has studied with many talented Iyengar instructors including Manouso Manos, Leslie Peters, Karin O'Bannon, Jo Zukovich, and Gloria Goldberg. In addition, Gillian feels privileged to have attended the Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park where B.K.S. Iyengar taught in 2005, and the Iyengar Yoga Odyssey with Geeta Iyengar in 2001. Gillian teaches with clear and precise, verbal and visual instructions, and brings a sense of joy and humor to the class.

VIRTUAL! Alignment/Iyengar Yoga - All Levels using zoom.us. A no-flow yoga practice that balances strength and flexibility. In this method, focus is on alignment and sequencing with the use of props and precise instruction. Expect to work with beginner to intermediate level poses or methods, working for depth, duration, and transformation through asana.
 
Recommended props:
- yoga block
- strap
- 2 blankets or couch cushion
- chair
- mat, towel, and water bottle

For the best experience make sure you have:

  • strong internet connection with computer video
  • mute yourself when joining the class
  • set to speaker view, not gallery view
  • mat, towel, and water bottle nearby

Sign-up ends 30-minutes prior to class start time. An email with the class meeting link will be sent 15-minutes before class start time.

A no-flow yoga practice that balances strength and flexibility. In this method, focus is on alignment and sequencing with the use of props and precise instruction. Expect to work with beginner to intermediate level poses or methods, working for depth, duration, and transformation through asana.

Plan to bring: mat and water bottle

Outdoor pod classes are small group workouts that allow us to sweat alongside others but in a physically distant way. Each outdoor class is limited to 9 people with plenty of room to work out. We are going to try our best to anticipate the weather, but, remember, this is Texas Y'all!

Inclement weather policy: classes will not meet if the rain chance is 70% and/or if the temperature is under 50 degrees. Any class cancelled due to weather will be refunded. You will be notified the night before.

Members can sign-up 6 days in advance, and cancel up to 4 hours before class start time. Masks and temperature checks are required.
