Chiropractic care restores proper motion to the joints of your spine and appendages. Primarily, people seek out Chiropractic care because they are experiencing pain or discomfort during daily activities, and chiropractic is very effective at relieving symptoms in these circumstances.
Proper joint function creates many other health benefits. Full joint range of motion can limit or remove adaptive movement and postural changes. This can put added stresses on the body, decreasing your body’s ability to perform during sports or exercise. Additionally, there is some evidence that appropriate joint mobility, especially in the spine, can help your nervous system perform more optimally. Not only can this help with athletic performance, but it may also help with any immune function, growth, and healing, sleep, digestion/absorption/utilization, as well as a general ability to lower the negative impacts of the stresses of modern life.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR CHIROPRACTIC VISIT AT CASTLE HILL FITNESS
Our chiropractors will treat you primarily through the use of a chiropractic adjustment, in which a high velocity/low amplitude force is exerted into your joints via the doctors’ hands, table drops, or an Arthrostim instrument. They will also address any muscle dysfunction associated with your issue through massage, soft tissue mobility, and assisted stretching. They will check your posture and give you recommendations for the correction of problems detected, including personalized exercises, personal traction, and ergonomic changes. The doctors are also proficient in extremity joint adjustments (including the TMJ) and can help with pain and injury healing or prevention.
Our chiropractors will ask you questions about your current or ongoing issues and look at your posture and ability to move. Then you’ll lie on a table. The doctor will assist you in getting your body into the positions needed to address your specific movement deficiencies. The doctor must touch your body to work on you, and you should wear clothing that allows for as much movement as possible.
