The Castle Hill Fitness Health Coach Department is here to provide knowledge of all aspects of healthy living in a way that is non-judgmental and tailored to the individual needs of the client. The Castle Hill Fitness Health Coaches will provide the tools to break through the confusion that health is not just about a diet and exercise but about implementing routines to help individuals excel in their lives.

WHAT IS HEALTH COACHING?
Institute for Integrative Nutrition defines a health coach as “A wellness authority and supportive mentor who motivates individuals to cultivate positive health choices. Health coaches educate and support clients to achieve their health goals through lifestyle and behavior adjustments”
A health coach is a person educated in nutrition, health and wellness, mentoring, and behavioral studies. They can serve as a mentor or advocate to help guide individuals to make positive changes in lifestyle to improve health. They can provide accountability, direction, and support to help clients stop struggling and start succeeding.

Elite Trainer & Programs Manager - 360
Laurie was a competitive swimmer as a child and into freshman year of college at Illinois State, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Fitness in 1992. She immediately started personal training from there, and loves making people feel better by showing them they are strong and have endurance to get them through their lives. She aims to make her group classes nurturing and support others’ self-care. In the past, Laurie volunteered for Danskin Team Survivor where she trained breast cancer survivors and those in treatment to compete in triathlons. She was also one of the founding members of the Texas Rollergirls and made flat track roller derby happen in Austin. When she’s not working, Laurie is deepening her Yoga and meditation practices, roller skating at the Veloway, singing in her Christmas band The Blitzens, or spending time with her husband and young daughter.

Sherri began her career as an anesthesia technician in New Orleans. She was so passionate about health, exercise, and nutrition that patients and coworkers would often ask her for advice on their own wellness routines. Sherri took the hint and got her Personal Trainer and Nutrition certification in 1999, and hasn’t looked back since. Her life goal is to share, educate and guide others.
Sherri’s approach is holistic and tailored to the individual’s needs – whether they are interested in nutrition or wellness coaching, weight loss, strength training, or support through cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery. She consistently works to expand her knowledge so she may continue empowering her clients to achieve optimal fitness and wellness and is currently seeking her Advanced Functional Nutrition certification through mindbodygreen.

Tonja found her path to Personal Training after countless hours of researching nutrition and wellness. When she discovered the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Tonja knew that she'd found a place that would give her the tools to help others avoid the pitfalls she experienced on her personal journey to wellness. During her training, she studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods that she now applies in her Training sessions.
Combined with Personal Training, she and her clients co-create completely personalized actions based on their goals to move them toward their ideal vision of health for their body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources. Tonja helps clients reach their goals by helping them navigate the massive amounts of information out there regarding nutrition, exercise, relationships, and spiritual growth. Because one thing she's learned through this process is that every piece of the puzzle is equally important on a journey to health.
