Permission: Expressive Voice & Movement Workshop
with Jonathan Shultz
Oct 24, 2026
Get Big. Take Up Space. Feel Freer.
Modern life teaches us to make ourselves smaller. We sit, scroll, type, speak quietly, and try not to bother anyone. Over time, our bodies, voices, and ability to express ourselves adapt.
This workshop is an invitation to reclaim something we had naturally as children: the permission to express ourselves fully. To laugh loudly, move freely, make ridiculous sounds, fail, be seen, and take up space. All in a safe, judgement-free environment.
Using highly specialized movement and voice training designed for actors, but reimagined for everyone, we'll explore how our bodies make sounds and movements specifically with the goal of expressing thoughts and feelings.
This Workshop will Cover:
- Why Expression Matters: The diminishing impact modern life has on us, from movement, confidence, relationships, and health.
- Meeting Your Instrument: Breath, Voice, Posture, Movement, Energy.
- The Colors of Expression from the Lugering Method: Move through the physical and vocal fundamentals of expression.
- Expressive Improvisation: Building expressive actions, with words and without.
- Reflection: An overview of what you learned about yourself in this session.
Leave feeling physically freer, emotionally lighter, more connected, and more expressive. No acting experience required, just a willingness to play!

About Dr. Jonathan Schultz
Vital Chiropractic's Dr. J is Austin's trusted chiropractor for wellness and pain relief, helping your body work at its highest level.
His fascination with movement and sound began in his earlier days as a student of acting and a Master of Fine Arts, training to express himself on stage. He went on to expand his movement training as a certified yoga instructor, where he observed the limitations that occur when people lose the ability to move well. Since 2015, Dr. J has helped people move better, feel stronger, and more supported in the nervous system as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Through the combined experiences of his unique background, he focuses on movement clinically while teaching the principles of a wellness lifestyle, including those of Expressive Health—an experience that allows people to feel connected, seen, and heard.
