Chris Richards
Pilates Instructor

Chris' Pilates journey began after a back injury introduced him to the transformative benefits of the practice. What started as a path to recovery quickly became a lifelong passion, thanks to the supportive instructors and welcoming community he found at CHF. Inspired by the acceptance, motivation, body awareness, and joy he experienced, Chris decided to pursue a career in Pilates and is currently working toward his Peak Pilates Comprehensive Classical Certification. He believes Pilates is a functional movement practice that promotes longevity through strength, flexibility, and mindful movement, and he is dedicated to helping clients discover those same benefits for themselves. In every session, Chris emphasizes functional movement, body awareness, and sustainable strength, creating a calm, encouraging environment where clients feel supported and empowered.

Movement and performance have been central themes throughout Chris' life. As a child, he loved gymnastics, handstands, and flipping on trampolines, and later became involved in music as a musician. His passion for movement continued through his training in Capoeira, the Brazilian martial art that uniquely combines athleticism, rhythm, and musical expression. Chris has also served as an EMT, further deepening his appreciation for the human body and its resilience. When he's not teaching Pilates, you can find him performing trombone on stages around town with his bands Superfonicos, Cilantro Boombox, and Micah Shalom & The Peaceful Brothers—another way he enjoys helping people connect, move, and be present.
