Speed up post-workout recovery and increase fitness performance with Compression Therapy! Our Compression Recovery service uses the NormaTec air compression technology to gently massage your legs, promoting circulation, lymphatic drainage, and reducing soreness and inflammation. Compression therapy is good for anyone, from athletes to anyone looking for a relaxing pick-me-up.
After a single session, you can expect benefits such as:
- Reduced lactic acid build-up
- Reduced muscle soreness and swelling
- Increased mobility
- Increased range of motion
- Increased energy
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A SESSION?
We recommend wearing comfortable workout clothes – shorts or leggings work best. Avoid bulky pants or thick seams to ensure a good fit. You will need to remove your shoes, as the leg sleeves go directly over your lower body.
When you arrive for your session, a Castle Hill Fitness staff member will help secure you into the Normatec “sleeves”. We will set the unit at your preferred intensity setting, and then leave you to it! These sleeves will start to inflate and deflate rhythmically – the sensation should be firm but not painful. You will be able to adjust the intensity level at any time on your own during the session.
Please be sure to shower first if using Compression Services after your workout.
WHEN SHOULD I USE COMPRESSION THERAPY?
Compression therapy is an excellent complement to your workout, whether directly before, after, or on a rest day. It is beneficial regardless of your fitness level.
- Pre-workout Warm-Up: Prepare the muscles and joints for activity, enhance mobility, flexibility, and reduce injury risk.
- Post-Workout Recovery: Flush out lactic acid, reduce muscle soreness and fatigue, and speed up healing.
- Rest Days: Compression Therapy is great even on days when you don’t work out, to promote an overall feeling of well-being.
If you have any of the following conditions, please consult with your doctor before booking Compression Therapy: Deep Vein Thrombosis, severe varicose veins, acute cellulitis or infections in the limbs, uncontrolled hypertension, recent surgery or trauma, congestive heart failure, or certain circulatory issues.
