Head outside this Fall, with a series of free movement classes at Waterloo Greenway! Every Monday at 6pm, join Castle Hill Fitness and various studios within our community in an immersive Yoga + Sound experience on the Moody Amphitheater lawn.

Yoga + Sound

Set some feel-good vibes for the week with mindful movement accompanied by sound therapy. Each week features a different style of yoga and live musical guest. 6:00-7:00pm

All classes are free to the community - bring your friends and a mat!

Join Castle Hill Fitness and The Contemporary Austin for yoga on the rooftop of the Jones Center! In September and October, enjoy two sessions each month with our instructors in a scenic location, featuring invigorating evening flows, and weekend yoga for the whole family. 

SEPTEMBER 18 - OCTOBER 30

Wednesdays Flow & Chill 5:30-6:30pm

Enjoy a slower-paced Vinyasa flow, before winding down with either long-held, supported Yin or Restorative postures to relax your body and soothe your nervous system. Leave feeling revitalized and ready to take on the rest of your week! This class is suitable for all levels.

Sunday Funday Flow + Family 12:30-1:30pm

Kick off your Sunday Funday with a family-friendly yoga flow. Enjoy mindful movement, followed by a peaceful relaxation or sound bath meditation. Adults and kids of all ages welcome! 

 

Classes are free for The Contemporary Austin members, or $5 for walk-ins.

LEARN THE ART OF MEDITATION IN MOTION

The practice of Tai Chi Chuan balances the “great polarity” otherwise known as yin & yang. These opposing forces are in constant flux in nature and our bodies, and Tai Chi Chuan teaches us how to live in harmony with these forces. The benefits of a consistent practice are vast - many practitioners report improved balance, flexibility, muscle tone, and enhanced immunity.

Sharpen your focus and find your true inner strength in a 4-week series proven to reduce stress, improve coordination and energy, and reduce risk of falls. Appropriate for all ages, levels, and abilities.

What to Expect

Week 1: Introduction to Tai Chi fundamentals, including basic stances, postures, and movements. Learn the principles of alignment and flow.  Week 2: Build on stances and postures from week 1, and begin integrating breath and movement.  Week 3: Begin stringing together postures into sequences and refine your technique.  Week 4: Combine postures, breath, and meditation into a flowing sequence. Emphasis on mindfulness and application of Tai Chi principles in daily life. 

Each session will build upon the previous: including stillness and guided movement, resulting in a simple routine to cultivate a sense of calm and well-being that can be practiced for a lifetime.
