Howdy, fitness aficionados!  Fall is upon us and Food for Fitness Cafe is changing with the season!  The creative kitchen juices have been flowing lately, and we have come up with a number of delicious new recipes to keep you fit this fall. Our showcase ingredient this season is, of course, Pumpkin!  It is easy to see that Pumpkin is good for your peepers.  The orange color is due to high amounts of beta-carotene, and just one cup contains 245% of your daily vitamin A needs.  Pumpkin is also a great post-workout food due to its high levels of potassium, a fundamental electrolyte easily depleted through sweating. Keeping up with the pumpkin craze, we have created two items showcasing this orange wonder food.  We have introduced a new Pumpkin Spice Smoothie!  It really is as amazing as it sounds.  This bad boy has 17 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber, and 83% of your daily calcium needs.  We have also created a delicious Pumpkin Muffin, because what fall menu would be complete without that? Also on display are seasonal veggies and the warm flavors of fall found in the following delicious items:
  • our Veggie Frittata, made with organic and pasture raised Vital Farms eggs
    • 172 calories, 14 grams protein, $3.50
  • a delicious Hummus Baked Chicken Breast complete with slices of caramelized lemon
    • 393 calories, 21 grams protein, $5.50
  • a warm and inviting Curry Turkey Burger
    • 180 calories, 16 grams protein, $5.00
