This 4 week, 7 session Beginner Series focuses on developing a foundational understanding of yoga postures and yogic breathing and will provide a basic explanation of the holistic and healthful reasoning behind the practice of yoga. In this series of classes, students will learn to move with the breath to increase flexibility & strength. Emphasis on safe alignment will assist students in maximizing the physical benefits of each yoga posture. This series is perfect for the raw beginner and those who are interested in revisiting yoga basics. There is no yoga experience necessary and the series is suitable for those who have minor injuries.

Yoga 101 with Kim Schaefer is the perfect way to begin learning yoga. The course covers foundational yoga postures, terminology and other concepts important to yoga practice such as breath. Kim is a great teacher who clearly demonstrates each posture and provides individual attention to each student to ensure proper form. The class review e-mails and handouts are great too because they help reinforce concepts learned in class and aid practice outside of class. After completing Yoga 101, I had the skills necessary to attend more advance yoga classes.
Kim's instruction was great. My fiancée loved it and now wants to step up her practice! Also, her follow-up emails were really helpful.
