Melissa was a track and wrestling student athlete before receiving her BFA in Dance. She discovered Pilates after a dislocated knee took her off the dance floor, and she quickly fell in love with the practice, got certified and opened her own Pilates Studio in Seattle, WA. She has since taken years of wide-ranging continuing education courses and Pilates trainings. Melissa loves to teach Pilates because it helps people feel good and move better – both in their other workouts and daily lives. She is always thinking outside the box and expanding her repertoire to enhance her clients’ experience.
 
As part of her repertoire expansion, Melissa became a certified M.A.T. (Muscle Activation Technique) specialist in 2017. Her combination of MAT work and Pilates instruction helps clients correct muscular imbalances, joint instability, and limitations within their bodies.

Feel the burn in this strength building workout
that combines Pilates principles and traditional strength training movements. Using the Kinesis cable machines and the Total Gym participants will improve strength, function, and balance. This series is perfect for someone curious about Pilates, or looking to supplement their current cardio & strength routine.

ISO/Pilates w/ Melissa-This class is one part challenging isometrics and one part upright Pilates followed by active stretching at the end. Work on activating and keeping the contraction of specific muscles to build strength and stability and balance and overall upright coordination with this unique version of upright Pilates.

Meet Melissa
Melissa Lipko has had a passion for movement since a young age. Earning her BFA in Dance from Cornish University, she has been a certified Elite level Pilates instructor for the last 14 years. Most recently she has pursued a Muscle Activation Techniques certification.
