Asana Lab: Extending the Spine with Backbends
WITH
Kim Schaefer
6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Thursdays
Most of our daily activities require our arms and shoulders to be forward and tend to put our spine in an unsupported forward bend. In this round of Asana Lab you will work to strengthen the back body and stretch the front body in order to ease the rigidity of the spine. You can look forward to lots of shoulder and chest opening as well as ample quad stretching. Working on poses like cobra, locust, bridge, and bow will build stamina and upper back strength. Practicing poses like camel and upward facing bow (wheel) will give you a burst of energy and increased confidence.
