No-Dog Yoga

6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays

A Yoga Series with No Downward Dogs

If you've ever been to a yoga class you have probably practiced downward dog along with numerous other postures that require you to bear weight on your arms. Frequently restrictions or old injuries in the upper body limit the accessibility and enjoyment in these postures and at times do more harm than good.

Join Anna during the month of April for a weekly 60 minute yoga class with no downward dog — that's right...no Adho Mukha Savasana. We will use a variety of other postures to build heat and increase flexibility without compromising the shoulders, arms or wrists. You will also learn alternative asanas and flow sequences that you can incorporate into regular yoga classes when everyone else is standing on their arms.

A few years ago Anna had a bout of bursitis in her shoulder and had to modify her yoga practice to exclude all weight bearing in the arms for months! Although the idea of yoga with no down dig seemed challenging at first it proved to be a unique opportunity to reevaluate and evolve. She looks forward to sharing her discoveries with you!
