Advancing Your Inversions

BKS Iyengar calls Sirsasana (Headstand) and Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand) the mother and father of our asana practice. Along with Adho Mukha Vrksasana (Handstand) and Pincha Mayurasana (Elbow balance), inversions offer us the opportunity to change our outlook on life. They develop strength, balance, vitality, and peace of mind. As our yoga practice deepens, our inversion practice should as well.

Join Anne-Marie Schultz, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (Junior 1) for a fun filled exploration of inversions. You will learn techniques to develop a more stable and sustained inversion practice. You will also learn a variety of inversion variations.

This workshop is for you if:
• You are comfortable in inversions at the wall and want to learn to balance in the middle of the room.
• You can kick into handstand at the wall, or maybe even do an elbow balance.
• You want to develop more strength and stamina in inversions to receive deeper physical and psychological benefits.

Must have 6-12 months of yoga experience, but you do not need an advanced inversion practice.
