Castle Hill Fitness is committed to offering students internship opportunities that will enrich their academic and professional careers. Our internship program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students eager to gain hands-on experience while working for the most unique and comprehensive fitness center in Austin. Interns bring energy and creativity to the many aspects of Castle Hill and in return, our business provides students with invaluable work experience in a challenging, dynamic, and friendly environment.
Internships opportunities are typically given to up to four students per semester. Most interns are college seniors majoring in Kinesiology and Health Education, Marketing, Business Management, and Nutrition, and they are all included in challenging assignments and client work.
Internships are not paid, but do meet requirements for class credit. Interns typically work a minimum of 20 hours per week in blocks of time. It is important for candidates to commit to the internship for the entire semester. Stellar performances may be compensated with a discretionary bonus.
Interested candidates must complete an application and provide a résumé, cover letter, and letter of recommendation from a previous employer or internship supervisor. If a professional letter is not available, a recommendation letter from a university professor will suffice.
Interns are typically assigned to a staff mentor and perform tasks such as: give tours of the facilities, conduct bodyfat assessments, give gym equipment orientations to interested clients, maintain equipment inventory, conduct client surveys, provide event assistance, update client database, edit press and marketing materials, assemble media and sales kits, perform customer and prospect follow-ups, assist in our café with customer service and preparation of organic foods, and various additional administrative duties.
