Nothing excites me more than the beginning of a new year. To me, it brings new life, new experiences, and new hope for the future ahead. What does it mean for you? Tell us by commenting below. Be inspired by others hopes and dreams, or better yet BE the inspiration for someone else.

I commit to more yoga this year! And this year, I’m really doing it!
I’m not big on NY resolutions. But I love the idea of a fresh new start, so to speak. This year I am re-dedicating myself to fitness. Yay! So this new year, I’ll be back in David’s spin class and back to running (I have even started trail running) and I may even go back to Ashtanga. Yep, you heard it here first, folks!
Oh yeah, I’m also detoxing from booze for 30 days. Easy breezy! New start for mah liver!
Here’s to 2012 and all the awesomeness it’s gonna bring!!
I am committing to stay fit and healthy this entire year. That means regular workouts, better eating and getting a regular medical check up. Luckily for me I work at the gym and we have an amazing cafe; now, if only I could bring a medical office here…. I want to find a way to minimize stress. and I commit to spend more time with my family. Cheers to 2012!
I already workout like a maniac, but the New Year is always a reminder that there will be lots of new faces in the gym, people setting goals, so I have to be mindful of my energy levels and try to be an example rather than be prone to burnout (which I’m always in danger of having two careers — personal trainer and web developer — and working 6-7 days a week). I think giving a little more priority to R&R time would be a big milestone for me this year.
In the short term I’m just trying to eat better breakfasts and consume less crap throughout the day — I always have eggs for breakfast, but typically it’s just eggs and toast and coffee (usually with a little coconut milk for creamer). I just started eating grapefruit with that and I’m making it a point to have either that or, if I cook up some bacon and scramble the eggs, then a garlic & spinach omelet…after that it’s a miracle if I get enough fruits & vegetables to meet the RDA. I don’t know if jalapenos on hamburgers count?
Drink more WATER!!! Run, Bike, Swim, Stretch, OM, Breathe, Laugh, Learn & Love.
Oh and remember my students names in cycling class!!!
Eli, Michael, Drew, Libba, Lina, Kevin, Heather…….
New Year 2012 for means a conscious focus on expanding my sense of time. That might mean saying no more often and more carefully choosing how and where to spend my energy. I am also super excited about returning to my practice of Yoga and Pilates at the Castle. I’m also committing to spending more time with my family.
The new year for me is an opportunity to take stock of how I have spent my time in last 365 days.. I hope this year to study Ashtanga more and meet more practitioners. Its such a wonderful system for me and I hope to share this love with more people. It is also my intention to go on long walks/hikes with my loved one and go for more over night camping trips.
